The Descendants of Thomas McLaughlin

When I started researching my McLaughlin line, I first stumbled upon the Irish Settlement in Newport, New York. In tracing this line, I found that Michael McLaughlin's oldest son, Thomas Newman McLaughlin, moved to Montello, WI. He even signed over his farm in Newport, New York to his father, Michael, who eventually passed it down the line to his other son, James McLaughlin of Newport, New York.

Thomas Newman McLaughlin was not the only McLaughlin family to head to Montello, WI from the Irish Settlement in New York. Michael's brother, Patrick McLaughlin, also lived in Newport, New York. A few of his children also moved to Montello, WI. It looks like that's how the Duffy's ended up there too.
